Archbishop Carroll's Taylor commits to Rutgers
BY ANDRE C. FERNANDEZa1fernandez@MiamiHerald.com
Archbishop Carroll's football team had its third player so far of the class of 2009 commit to a Football Subdivision (formerly known as Division I) school Wednesday.
Senior safety Terrance Taylor orally committed to Rutgers University. Taylor (6-0, 175) has scholarship offers from UCF, South Florida and FIU.
Taylor, who has been timed at 4.6 seconds in the 40-yard dash and has a 31-inch vertical leap according to Scout.com, helped the Bulldogs advance to the Class 2A state semifinals last season.
Taylor joins wide receiver Rodney Smith (Florida State) and defensive back Cory Ammons (UCF) among Archbishop Carroll players to commit early.
Verbal commitments are nonbinding until players can sign letters of intent on Feb. 4.
