CELEBRITY ROUNDUP
Hugh Jackman: one sexy man
Hugh Jackman clinched it -- the cover of People's Sexiest Man Alive issue. Quite an honor since past hotties have included George Clooney (twice), Brad Pitt (also twice), Harrison Ford, Jude Law and Mel Gibson, who was the inspiration for the annual, testosterone-loaded parade in 1985.
We at 8A think the 6-foot-2, 40-year-old married father of two is long overdue for the honor (didn't the editors see Kate & Leopold?).
''Women's jaws drop when Hugh walks into a room,'' said Nicole Kidman, Jackman's costar in the upcoming love story Australia.
Wife Deborra's response, according to Hugh:
'God bless her. She said, `I could've told them that years ago!' And then she said, 'Obviously, Brad wasn't available this year.' And I said, 'That was a joke, right?' ''
It's on newsstands Friday.
HOT MEN, PART II
Kathy Griffin was hoping gentlemen prefer redheads.
The comedian was like a single woman in an eye candy store Tuesday night at GQ magazine's Man of the Year party at L.A.'s Chateau Marmont Hotel.
''I'm man shopping. This is like a man mall, and I'm shopping for the best one I can find,'' joked the D-Listed star of the crowd that included Leonardo DiCaprio, Zac Efron, Aaron Eckhart and Jon Hamm, with longtime love JenniferWestfeldt (Kissing Jessica Stein).
Griffin was joined by Sarah Silverman, who came with not-so-ex boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel; Khloe Kardashian, who attended one of the Fontainebleau's grand relaunch parties on Saturday; and Rosario Dawson, who was in Miami Monday doing press rounds for her winter movie Seven Pounds.
Sheesh, these Hollywood types sure have a lot of energy.
FLIGHT, INTERRUPTED
Winona Ryder was briefly hospitalized after falling ill on a flight to London's Heathrow Airport on Wednesday.
British Airways said a flight from Los Angeles to Heathrow requested priority landing after a female passenger ''required medical attention'' and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Winona has mostly stayed out of the headlines after her 2002 shoplifting conviction.
Ryder had prescription drugs in her possession when she was arrested, but a drug charge was dropped after a doctor said he had prescribed the medication.
Not that her ''illness'' was drugs, but we're just filling you in . . .
