Something smells fishy in Prince's world
A perfume company is claiming Prince failed to honor a contract to help market a fragrance named for the album 3121.
The breach-of-contract lawsuit filed Monday by Revelations Perfume and Cosmetics in New York says the company licensed the 50-year-old pop star's name, likeness and the album title 3121 to market its fragrance.
The company says it spent $2.5 million and agreed to pay his music publisher, Universal, half of net profits from sales. But it has seen nary a promotion since the launch in July 2007.
Guess Prince has been too . . . busy?
WHAT'S WRONG, MIKEY?
And in other '80s pop star news: Michael Jackson might be too sick to travel to London to testify in a suit claiming he owes an Arab sheik $7 million, the pop star's attorney said Tuesday.
Jackson, 50, is seeking to give his testimony by video link from the United States (he's good at that).
''It would be unwise for him to travel, given what's he's got now,'' Robert Englehart said, declining to elaborate ``for the obvious reasons.''
There is no indication as to what the illness might be, but Jacko's lawyer said his client's condition could be treated with a bandage ``if the diagnosis is positive.''
Or maybe try a surgical mask?
DARK DAYS FOR KNIGHT
Hip-hop mogul Marion ''Suge'' Knight is facing felony drug charges and a misdemeanor battery charge in Las Vegas.
Police allege they saw the founder of bankrupt Death Row Records beating his girlfriend while brandishing a knife in a parking lot near the Strip in August.
Authorities said the woman wasn't stabbed, but was treated for injuries. Police say Knight, 43, had the drugs Ecstasy and hydrocodone when he was arrested and later posted bail.
In 2005, Knight was shot in the leg at South Beach's Shore Club after attending the MTV Video Music Awards.
The shooting took place inside a packed party hosted by Kanye West. It remains unsolved.
THE BRADLEY BUNCH
Life isn't exactly the pits for the Jolie-Pitts but it sure is hectic.
With six kids ranging from four months to 7, Brad Pitt told Oprah that life requires careful planning
The star of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which hits theaters Christmas Day, said quick car trips to the mall are so not in the picture anymore.
''It's like a half an hour just to get everyone buckled in and make sure they've got their snacks, and Z.Z. [Zahara, 3] has got a blanket and Shiloh's got her silky,'' he says. We're not sure what a silky is but it sounds hard to clean.
At least the hunk has help in the form of partner Angelina Jolie.
``Angie's militant about it. She's right on top of it. Thank God, because I'm always forgetting something.''
The Oprah Winfrey episode airs 4 p.m. Wednesday on WFOR-4.
